Ik ben ruim 11 jaar procesoperator geweest bij Cabot Corporation in de Botlek. Vanuit de controlekamer stuurde ik DeltaV DCS-systemen aan, analyseerde ik AspenTech-trends en signaleerde ik storingen vaak voordat ze impact hadden op het proces. Tegelijkertijd werkte ik veel in het veld: inspectierondes lopen, installaties controleren, werkzaamheden begeleiden en schakelen tussen operatie, onderhoud en veiligheid. Door die combinatie van controlekamerervaring, praktijkkennis en het opleiden van operators heb ik de procesindustrie écht van binnenuit leren kennen — van sensor tot stoomsysteem, en van storing tot structurele verbetering.
I worked for over 11 years as a Process Operator at Cabot Corporation in the Botlek industrial area. From the control room, I operated DeltaV DCS systems, analyzed AspenTech trends, and often identified process disturbances before they could impact production. At the same time, I was heavily involved in field operations — performing inspections, checking equipment, coordinating maintenance activities, and continuously balancing operations, maintenance, and safety. This combination of control room experience, hands-on field knowledge, and operator training gave me a deep understanding of the process industry — from sensors and steam systems to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
